**Prologue**

_- Los Angeles, California -_

"Chloe, I swear, if you say anything about giving me a make-over, I will personally kill you."

A blonde-haired girl shrunk away from her friend, looking genuinely scared.

"Lena!" she cried. "Rex is being mean to me again!"

"That's because you're being annoying, idiot!" Zoe responded to her fraternal twin. "Just how many Milky Ways did you eat?"

"I didn't eat any!"

Away from the passionate argument and roaring chaos, another girl exhaled bleakly.

"You guys are so _loud_..." she mumbled.

"You're just too quiet, Michelle," Toni corrected. She glanced at the textbook that lay across Michelle's lap and grimaced. "And why are you _studying_? Summer's just started, you know!"

"Why shouldn't I?" Michelle countered, shooting daggers at the short-haired girl while adjusting her glasses. "To be honest, don't you need to review the school material? Your grades are barely above passing!"

Lena watched the chaos unfold once more and let out an exasperated sigh. Grabbing hold of the silver whistle that hung around her neck, she stuck it in her mouth and blew.

An ear-piercing, high-pitched squeal echoed in the luxurious penthouse. The other five girls covered their ears in sync, glancing at the girl that gazed sternly back at them.

"You guys are being too loud again," said Lena. "Think about the neighbors that live below us, will you?"

Some sulking, some pouting, the five girls returned to their individual activities, leaving the argument unfinished once more. With a contented sigh, Lena smiled to herself and plugged her earbuds back into her ears.

For now, the storm had been calmed. She'd survived yet another whirlwind of bickering.

**Okay, how's that?**

**Sorry if you think it's a bit short. But it's a prologue, so I promise I'll make the next chapters more lengthy. ^^**
